Hi Everyone...ANAARKALI suit is very famous and really expensive these days. So I decided to make one for myself on my own.
I prepared the patterns of ANAARKALI on brown paper and then finally onto the fabric. Deciding on number of 'kalis for your suit could be tricky. I went for 18 'kalis' for my suit as I am a bit slim.
All 'kalis' should be exactly same in dimensions. This is how the 'kalis' look after cutting them off the fabric.
There are 2 panels that need to be stitched separately. Each having 9 'kalis'. I am joining the 'kalis' together in the image below. This is for front panel. And back panel will be copy of the same.
Once we are done with the panel it needs to be ironed well to give 'kalis' a good shape.
After proper ironing of 'kalis' you need to do 'top stitch' on the 'kalis' which looks like this.
Finished panel is ready. Now we need to work on stitching neck and shoulder patterns.
Join all the parts - panels, shoulder and neck parts. Your ANAARKALI is ready. Isn't it beautiful!
