Crochet Pineapple Shawl

Hey ....My cousin had gifted me yarn I don't remember when, but it came very handy when I started my crochet shawl project.

I had always wanted to make a shawl for me. Idea this time was to get something which can be worn as a PONCHO and SHAWL both, and I like pineapple. So PINEAPPLE SHAWL was an obvious choice for the pattern.

I googled around couple of websites and got  a nice looking pattern from http://www.redheart.com/free-patterns/sidewalk-shawl. You may find many varieties of pineapple patterns available on the internet. This is my favorite of all those.

Pattern in the website had different edging. I liked the edge style in a different website that gives curvy look to the shawl.

Tada here it is :) ;) <3

Don't forget to email me about on your thoughts and suggestions. And you can inbox me on my facebook page too!!! :)

Rosette Flowers DIY Tutorial

DIY Tutorial Series
Hey Guys, I missed to take photographs during this project. But I can guarantee that you can do your project after reading this post. And if you still need more information do drop me a comment or mail me.

I started by with cutting a 18" by 4" strip from the fabric. then folding the strip into half on width(reducing the width). Then give basting stitches on the the edge 1/4" inside the edge. Draw the stitches slowly so that the strip gathers together at various points.

Now cut a small circle on a chart paper around 3/4" in diameter. Start to paste the gathered strip from the outer periphery of the circle and run towards inside. Use a fabric glue gun to do this. Stick 3 pearls in the centre of the flower. Rosette is ready!

Barbie Handmade Dress and Crochet Hat

Hello there - I have always wanted to give my barbies a new look(Why shouldn't they when I am getting those). These barbie dresses are made from cotton and synthetic polyester materials. Hats are 100% woollen made through crocheting. Hat patterns are my own designs. Though I am not expert in crocheting hats I tried my best.

Oven Mitt DIY Tutorial

Hi Readers - 'Oven Mitt' is a simple for-the-beginners project. Any newbie can think to pick up. Here I am giving illustrations on how to go about it.

Materials required for the project are -

1) Any Paper for pattern(eg. Newspaper, Brown paper, Chart Paper)
2) Pencil/Pen
3) Fabric markers
4) Lining Material - cut 2 pieces
5) Fleece Material - cut 2 pieces
6) Main Fabric Material - cut 2 pieces

Take a paper and draw freehand outline of the hand by keeping your palm over the paper. Leave sufficient margin outside the palm

Cut the pattern from the paper when you are satisfied with the drawing

Cut the fleece using the paper pattern. I got this from D-Mart for just Rs. 99 /-

Similarly cut the pattern on main fabric and the lining fabric

This is lining material

Sandwich the fleece between the main fabric and lining fabric(1 piece each pf all three fabrics). Put criss cross lines through sewing machine on the outline. One panel is ready. Second panel is mirror image of the first panel. Prepare it in exactly the same way

Join both the panels. You can use a bias tape at the bottom outline as in image below.
Your 'Oven Mitt' is ready!!!! :)

Messenger Bag

Hi All... MESSENGER BAG is what I have desired to create since long long time.
I am so fascinated by this stuff I am giving DIY tutorial also here :)

Dimensions are -
Bag - 20 inches by 14 inches((M2+L2+I2) front+back)
Flap - 15 inches by 15 inches(M1+L1+I1)
Belt - 54 inches by 4 inches(M1)
Inner pocket - 6 inches by 8 inches(L1)
Front cargo pockets - 10 inches by 6 inches(M2)
Back pocket - 7 inches by 14 inches(M1)
Bias tape for decoration
M=Main fabric   (M2 = On Main fabric cut 2 pieces. Similarly L1, I1 etc.)
L=Lining
I=Interfacing
1. All interfacing should be fused with main fabric
                                                  This is for front pocket
On all upper edges on the main fabric pockets I have used bias tapes for decoration.
Now, stitch 2 pockets side by side.
Stitch each pocket with 2 inch inverted(inwards)  fold on both left and right side. For more detailing see picture below.

Pockets are done as shown in images below.

Join flaps with the back panel as in above pic. Then join back panel and front panel together like in below images.

To get a boxy look to the bag, design needs to be cut like the one above on the already joined front and back panel. And do repeat these steps with lining. Now you have two bags in your hand one in main fabric one in lining....now join both bags. It looks almost complete now. you can add bias tape for decoration like I did. Bias tape being joined in below pic.
Attach belt of suitable length to the bag.
MESSENGER BAG is ready :) Let me know your views by dropping a comment on my blog or on facebook. Also feel free to mail me on my gmail ID.  You can get all contacts on my home page of the blog. See you later Bye!!!

My initial 'Crocheting' works

Hey readers! These Crocheting works take me to a nostalgia of time when I started. These are my first projects. Crocheting is believed to be one of the toughest sewing/knitting art. And it is dying in India.
This crochet bag with crochet flower on top. Quite remarkable isn't it!
Yes this is "BROOMSTICK LACE SCARF". Again a tough nut to crack but not for me :)
The purse without those 2 roses.
Let me know your views on my crocheting works. there are still more to come. keep reading.

Table runner and Sewing Machine Cover

I am learning quilting since few days and these are my first experiments. TABLE RUNNER and SEWING MACHINE cover. I had used 'cotton batting' to achieve this.
